    A record 44,000 fans have attended the Vitality Blast quarter-finals this week, beating the previous record of 39,000 in 2013! 🙌 The Kia Oval also set a quarter-final record for a single match with more than 19,000 fans attending Surrey’s win over Durham 👏

    Imagine a world where your team is 3rd 1 point from top, lost 1 game all season with a developing team thrown together after a fire sale in the summer & after an admittedly poor performance you boo them off 🤷‍♂️ The self-entitlement is staggering.

    Burnley 12 points clear at the top, 16 clear of 3rd & yet some “fans”have their heads falling off because they only drew. Questioning managers selection & tactics.! Incredible really.

    Worked for @BBCLancsSport at 2days game with Steve Eyre a pro coach of 30 yrs.Tonight he sent me a text “I’ve never seen a performance in all my time like Burnley’s.Obviously far too good for the level & their opponents but I honestly felt like I was watching football in yr 2030”

    Good luck to all the @lancs_league teams starting the season today, the fact that parents,grandparents,wives & girlfriends can’t watch their loved ones play on a half acre open air site unless they partake in “hospitality” is an absolute shambles from @DCMS & @ECB_cricket #gowell

    Lots of speculation about Tom Heaton today Lots of opinions. Just remember, Nick Pope has had 1 excellent season, Tom Heaton has been outstanding for 6 seasons. He has several seasons left yet. Be careful what you wish for. #formistemporary #classispermanant

    Utterly and totally wrong that some ties have VAR and others don’t. How is that a level playing field. Should have no VAR in any tie until every ground left in the comp has access to it.

    So instead of running around a 3 acre outdoor field with 14 other people many metres apart, getting fresh air & exercise this weekend we are going to spend it in the pavilion drinking beer, watching sport with 29 other people about 1 metre apart. That makes sense eh.!!

    Just got in from work, watching the protests & shaking my head. All those incredibly brave people in the nhs & care homes plus key workers, that risked their lives to keep us safe & these complete morons could ruin it all. Protests could still take place at a safer time.

    So right now cricket clubs should be selecting teams for the long awaited return of the greatest game. However no one can because we are all still waiting for the @ECB_cricket to tell us what format we are allowed to play. But in fairness they’ve only had 3.5 months to plan. 🤷‍♂️
