By the end of this year, we will have fixed 26,500 lane miles of road and almost 2,000 bridges, making commutes safer, smoother, and more reliable all across Michigan while supporting tens of thousands of jobs.
I ran on fixing the damn roads and bridges in communities across Michigan.
Today, I’m so excited to be at the reopening of the Miller Rotunda Bridge, a key piece of infrastructure that supports our economy and connects people to the heart of Dearborn.
We put the world on wheels. Now, we’re working hard to expand our mobility capabilities with our Advanced Air Mobility Initiative and the Michigan Maritime Strategy.
Our progress is a reminder -- if you want to build the next big thing, come to Michigan.
Today, I’m gathered with transportation and mobility leaders at the ITS America Conference & Expo. What better place than the Motor City to share innovative ideas and build on our long history as a leader and the #1 state for mobility, electrification, and automotive R&D.
North Muskegon Public Schools are turning free school meals into a hands-on learning experience through the Norse Villages program.
Powered by Michigan’s free breakfast and lunch, students are stepping into the world of sustainable food and making their own healthy smoothies.
1.4 million kids + 180 school days + 2 free meals a day = focused students and relieved parents.
Free breakfast and lunch is an equation for success. It helps kids stay focused in class while saving parents an extra $1,000 PER year, PER child.
Let’s make it permanent!
During Men’s Health Month, we must work to reduce stigma and break down barriers that keep our fathers, brothers, sons, and friends from getting the care they deserve. Change starts with honest conversations, education, and listening to the men in our lives.
🔸Banning ghost guns
🔸Waiting periods for firearm purchases
🔸Stronger school safety
🔸Support for community intervention
🔸Better victim support services
🔸Improvements on safe firearm storage education
Let’s get this done and build a safer, brighter future for Michigan.
Last year the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force released a report with proven strategies to save more lives in Michigan.
Today, I'm signing an executive order to take focused action to make these recommendations a reality. Here's how we further protect our communities ⬇️
I am proud of our progress:
✅Universal Background Checks
✅Safe storage requirements
✅Stronger red flag laws
✅Record investments in public safety
✅Establishing the first ever Gun Violence Prevention Task Force
We’ve got a lot done, but we can’t stop here.
