Sunak rightly condemned being labelled a “P*ki”. That he didn’t use his time as PM to condemn other instances of racism, against other minorities, who don’t have his privileges, for politically expedient reasons, is one of his biggest failings in office.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand why a primetime interview with former PM Boris Johnson - because of his book - was considered necessary by the BBC in the first place? That's the real issue here. Who the media gives a platform to & why/how matters

This woman changed a part of me when I first saw this from @BylineTV. I will never forget her. "I don't feel myself anymore. I'm a different person. I was a journalist, very proud of myself & glamorous. Now I'm a refugee" Everything can become nothing.

Why is Prince Andrew getting a tougher ride from the #BBC than the Prime Minister? Why can't the public service broadcaster turn its forensic interview skills on Boris Johnson and demand answers on Russia, hedge funds, oligarchs, Vote Leave law-breaking et al? Why?

The entire country is being held hostage by the Prime Minister and his Government. That there is *nothing* in the British political system that can do anything about a law-breaking PM who refuses to resign is the real story. Our constitution is in slow-motion self-destruction.

If ever proof was needed of Britain's political-media class merger: Forsyth is married to Johnson's ex aide Allegra Stratton. Sunak was his best man. They were at Winchester together. Godparents to each other's children How's this healthy for democracy?

Rishi Sunak has hired James Forsyth, political editor of @Spectator and his close personal friend, to join Downing Street as his political secretary. He has been tasked with improving communication with Tory MPs and act as link man between PM, policy unit and party.

On behalf of @BylineTimes, thank you to everyone who has offered their support in the face of threats and intimidation over the past few days. We carry on. Tomorrow, we will be publishing the next part in our investigative series: 'Who Is #MartinBranning?' - and what did he do?

That Hancock resigned over a personal matter after newspapers published security footage of him kissing his aide and covered the issue extensively shows that the media could have held him accountable for matters of public interest (150,000 COVID deaths)... ...if they wanted to.

The BBC is in big trouble given its independence had been corrupted to this extent. Another British institution crumbling from within.

The British political system relies on 'good chaps' being in power. What we saw today with @DawnButlerBrent's ejection from the Commons was how susceptible, how broken it is. Bad actors who don't play by the rules can get away with it, while those who call them out are punished.

They're lying, we know they're lying & they know we know they're lying. We must resist becoming comfortably numb to a constructed reality being created around us as people die Felt compelled to write this: 'Coronavirus: An Exercise in Hypernormalisation'

Britain – home to the mother of parliaments and exporter of justice around the world – is actually quite a scary place to live when the biggest police force in the land gives the impression it is engaged in a cover-up to protect the highest holders of public office #SueGrayReport

There's now a lot of focus on Boris Johnson's character and how unsuitable he is for high office. The real story is how those who enabled and facilitated his rise knew this, and why they did so. Johnson is a product of the most vulnerable parts of our democracy.
