    The Social Science Research Council Announces Edward Glaeser as the recipient of the 2022 Albert O. Hirschman Prize. Prof Glaeser will be presenting the Hirschman Lecture, “The Connecting Machine: Cities in the Rich and Poor World”, at the Institute for Advanced Study on 12/7/22.

    Stuart Wood, @Harvard's first political economy graduate student, received his PhD from the Dept. of Political Science in 1875. Wood’s thesis is often cited as the first PhD in the subject of economics in the United States.
