    RECOVERIES We are pleased to also inform the public that we are now seeing recoveries of previously reported COVID-19 cases. We are in the process of conducting further confirmation tests and medical examinations then we formally inform the public on the numbers of recoveries

    Cuba and China will be assisting South Africa. China assisted with the supply of goods. India has created support to get medication. 180 Cuban doctors are expected in SA. SA is taking a preventative approach this the importance of Cuban doctors who are strong on PHC #Covid_19

    REPORTED DEATHS: The second patient who died was a 28 year old female who was in respiratory distress. The clinical picture was suggestive of COVID-19. A test was done including to her family.They all tested negative. She is therefore no longer considered a #COVID19 case

    Flu Vaccine; Government has taken a decision that health workers in SA will be given priority in receiving the flu vaccine. This is precipitated by the fact that the country can’t afford to have them sick especially as the flu season approaches #COVID19 #CoronaVirusUpdate

    We are pleased to announce that in the early hours of tomorrow, 27 April 2020, a delegation of 217 Cuban Medical Brigade will arrive in SA. The Cuban medical personnel support comprises of infectious diseases specialists, to support SA in its efforts to deal with #Covid_19

    We have consulted with our genomics team who have assured us that, at present, there is no evidence that the 501.V2 is more transmissible than the UK variant- as suggested by British Health Secretary. There is also no evidence that the 501.V2 causes more severe disease #COVID19
