11 #UNSC members 🇦🇱🇧🇷🇫🇷🇬🇦🇬🇭🇮🇪🇰🇪🇲🇽🇳🇴🇬🇧🇺🇸 voted today in favor of a draft Resolution proposed by 🇦🇱 & 🇺🇸to end #Russia’s aggression against #Ukraine. #Russia was alone! 81 UN Member States co-sponsored the text. The issue will be transferred to the #UNGA #StandWithUkraine 🇺🇦

For the first time, the Flag of #Albania has been proudly raised at a special place at the #UN - the corner where "lights never go out" - the Security Council - along the flags of 14 other #UNSC Members. It will be displayed there during our SC tenure of 24 month. #AlbaniaUNSC🇦🇱

The #UNGA just voted. A historic result. The desperate & artificial mentioning of the case of #Kosova (& Taiwan) did not shield #Russia from a crushing defeat. 143 countries said a resounding NO to the war, NO to sham referendums, NO to annexation of territory. #StandWithUkraine.

I would gladly challenge anyone, in this Council & outside, to argue & prove that the Balkans are not nowadays much better off with Kosovo as an independent country. Kosovo's independence has been settled 14 years ago & it is not for discussion. #Kosovars has made their choice.

At every occasion in our work at #UNSC we point out, loud clear, the importance of accountability & fighting impunity. Today we recall the #Recak Massacre in #Kosova, where #Serbian special forces executed 45 unarmed #Albanians in 1999. Justice must prevail! #AlbaniaUNSC🇦🇱

A landmark decision. #Russia's war wants to change the #European security architecture & rules. It may, but not her way! This should serve as a awakening to further strengthen & speed up relations with those in #WB6 who stand with #EU, incl. by fully recongnizing #Kosovo.

This was the last meeting of #UNSC for 2023 & the last for our 2-year mandate. Dramatic events made it be on #Ukraine, the very issue that has dominated the SC work for our term. We could not be more proud to have stood firmly on the right side of history, for freedom & dignity.

At today’s Security Council emergency meeting on #Ukraine, #Albania urged all UN Members to not allow Russia to succeed and impose its imperial vision to others. If we allow it to do so with its neighbors, they will read it as a license to do so with the entire continent. This

The #UNSC vote today on a resolution tabled by 🇦🇱 & 🇺🇸was procedural in nature but its significance is of historic proportions. A veto tried to lock the UN, last Friday, at the SC. Tomorrow, at the #UNGA the #World will condemn an unprovoked & unjustified pure act of #aggression
