    I'll raise a red flag if the state OR its main economic engine, Chicago, considers a bad borrowing proposal. Going $830 million deeper in debt right after downgrade is short-sighted. City Council members should vote against this back-loaded borrowing.

    My heartfelt thanks go to the legislators of the State House & Senate for honoring women today by voting to make #Illinois the 37th state to ratify the #ERA. This corrects the mistake the legislature made a decade ago when they failed to pass the amendment. #twill

    I’ve always been a fan of @MrT. So I asked him to make a video about the importance of wearing a mask during this #COVID19 crisis for all of Illinois and especially his hometown Chicago - the hardest-hit part of the state with the most casualties. C’mon tough guys: Put on a mask.

    8 years ago today Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka was taken from us too soon. She was a good friend and a great public servant who worked hard for the people. We worked on so many projects together. We try every day to ensure her spirit lives on at the Comptroller's Office. #twill
