Easier to recognize shape (bounces/hops) from side. Get your eyes to the side of the groundball before you work through it #FridayFielders

Gregorius 1-6 pivot. Left shoulder feed gives feet opportunity to gain ground/ momentum to first base. Notice eyes: patient, “ball first” mentality and in no rush to find target... “Bury your eyes in the leather, and trust what your body can do thereafter.”

The demands and range of the one-handed lane are as vertical as they are lateral. Prepare accordingly...

Glovework & footwork need to be versatile. A @TroskyBaseball inspired vid showing how hop DEPTH challenges that versatility #FridayFielders

Initially thought this practice rep by Arenado was somewhat unorthodox- then saw him make this in-game play and laughed... Reminder: Your INSTINCTS will take over before your HEAD has it figured out- train accordingly.

Awesome view of in-sync footwork (from prep steps, to drop step, to crossover) of two infielders attacking the same ground ball from opposite directions. Every step mirrors the other’s perfectly thanks to the balance and timing achieved via their prep-steps #FridayFielders

Throwing in the infield is about using, creating, or offsetting the momentum (or lack thereof) of your route... Here’s a cool look at vintage/ college Alex Bregman combatting that wide range of momentum, while also showcasing the versatility of his one-hand lane while on-the-run

You never know when/how the game will challenge even the most mundane of reps. Take pride in them all

One of the biggest shifts in our training in 2019 was a focus on developing comfort & efficiency fielding on-the-run in the 1-hand & backhand lanes. Found the more we freed up our feet, the more we were able to attack/create hops #FridayFielders

Javier Baez SS 2-step pattern: “Right to left, left to target” footwork. Low slot a by-product of tilted posture
