- Given the tragic events in hockey this week, and the anxiety some people would have seeing both of Gudas' skates narrowly missing Keller, I'd hope the Ducks social media team might have slightly more awareness in putting out a post this week with that phrase.Beware the Butcher. #FlyTogether
00:00 - No Pride jerseys, no Pride tape. A horrifying statement about even being in the presence of others. How badly does the NHL want to exclude and show they don’t in any way care about inclusion?
- Bobby Hull was an incredible hockey player in his time. He was also abusive, violent to women, racist, and anti-Semitic. Sportwashing the man because of the player is historically inaccurate. I'm not sure how to mark his passing, other than to say all of the above is true.
- Never in my days did I anticipate the NHL going into mentions against bigoted fans with such a clear, concise, and supportive statement. Well done, NHL.Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Nonbinary identity is real.
- The fact the New York Rangers completely abandoned their plans to wear pre-game Pride jerseys shows how entrenched homophobia and transphobia is in hockey, and the NHL’s complicity to exclusion

- There will always be gay players, trans fans, queer staff, lesbien officials, bi coaches, non-binary media. LGBTQ+ folks matter, they are valued, and have always and will always be part of this sport.
- Hate to tell these NHLers this, but they are choosing a hateful version of their religion. I’ve read the Bible, front to back, multiple times, and it doesn’t say what they think it does. They’re following man made hate, that’s it.
- Sad to see ex-NHL players like @jachobe using their platform to try to silence victims of sexual violence and impugn the voices of women. This kind of misogyny is a root cause to why hockey culture has earned, and maintains, its reputation.
- My kid just walked into the room. Sees Leafs vs Bruins warming up on TV. "What? It's boys hockey" with full indignation. "Why isn't there girls hockey on?" She's 5 and will never know a world where we can't just turn our TV on and see pro women's hockey players, and I love it.
- Imagine being the San Jose Sharks who likely spent months planning an in depth Pride celebration, to have James Reimer say, nah, this night is about me. The ‘mistake’ the Sharks made on an incredible Pride night was amplifying his bigoted statement instead of denouncing it.
- The NHL will not allow teams to wear Pride jerseys next season...this decision was made by the NHL Board of Governors during Pride month.
- Hockey Canada has announced a record setting number of women and girls registering for hockey this year topping 115,000.
