All NeuroImage and NeuroImage:Reports editors have resigned over the high publication fee, and are starting a new non-profit journal imaging-neuroscience.org This comes with great regret, and a huge amount of thought and discussion- please read announcement to get more details.

We are now open for consideration of new papers at Imaging Neuroscience: janeway.imaging-neuroscience.org This allows for the review process to proceed without delay. The production & publication process for accepted papers will then wait until full journal opening (aiming for mid-July).

Many have been (rightly!) asking when we will be open for submissions (including transfers over from NeuroImage). Tied down further details today: we are going to be working very hard, *aiming* to be ready for submissions by mid-July.

We have just published the 100th paper, 6 months after the first. The overall quality of submissions remains higher than it was at NeuroImage before we all resigned to start Imaging Neuroscience. Huge thanks to our reviewers, authors, the Editorial Board, and @mitpress

Many of us (editors and @mitpress) were at @OHBM last week - hugely positive feedback from attendees. Just received our 200th submission! The overall quality of submissions is even higher than we were seeing at NeuroImage before we all resigned to start Imaging Neuroscience.

It is now confirmed that the just-resigned editors will be able to continue to handle already-submitted papers at NI/NI:R (if authors wish) until end 2023. This includes papers previously submitted & awaiting author resubmission (minor-revision, major-revision, reject-resubmit).
