At Stonehaven an off duty member of Train Crew, having just been involved in the crash, walked over a mile to the nearest Signal Box to raise the alarm. The Driver was killed instantly.

Lots of talk at the moment about vulnerability of aircraft carriers. A reminder HMS Invincible was sunk 3 times in the Falklands conflict and still made it home.
