Today, the #UNGA officially adopted the SDG Political Declaration! Ireland🇮🇪 is pleased to have played a key role, alongside 🇶🇦, in facilitating this important text. Its adoption heralds the start of a new phase of accelerated action to get the #SDGs back on track by 2030.

I delivered my 1st statement on behalf of Ireland @ #UNSC today. The situation in Syria has worsened in over 11 years of conflict. It needs to end. Proud of Ireland's work with @NorwayUN on the humanitarian file, which will continue to be paramount through the end of our term.

Today I met with UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights & Counter-Terrorism @NiAolainF and her team. Ireland is a strong supporter of Fionnuala’s work & mandate and I look forward to continuing our engagement. Human rights must remain at the core of counter-terrorism responses.
