    The names of the 39 people who died in the back of a lorry in Essex a few weeks ago have been released. 39 people who were loved and will be missed by family and friends. They are more than a number. We remember them here: Pham Thi Tra My, aged 26 Nguyen Dinh Lurong, aged 20

    🚨🚨UPDATE: Two more people have been taken off the flight because of an injunction made by the European Court of Human Rights. It shouldn't take a European Court to tell the UK government a simple fact: it's morally repugnant to trade human beings for cash.

    🚨Suella Braverman has called people seeking safety here an 'invasion' on the South Coast. One day after a far-right firebomb attack on an asylum centre. Heinous. We cannot allow Braverman's dehumanising language + decision-making to continue. She's putting lives at risk.

    This account is absolutely devastating. Despite calls for help, UK and French authorities *refused* to rescue people. At least 27 people needlessly lost their lives as a result. Our governments both have blood on their hands.
