    What would you do to prevent your murder? To prevent the murder of your child, brother, sister, friend, community? We tried to peacefully kneel or raise a fist but that made us un-American, a distraction, a son of a bitch. Today I am a thug, but tomorrow will I be a hashtag?

    Hockey is for everyone. If you think black athletes should only play basketball, than you clearly don’t know much about sports. There’s no room for racism in the rink or anywhere.

    Second racist incident in the same week Willie O’Ree was honored. SMH. How do we still have so far to go? Time for coaches/leagues to have a talk with their teams immediately. Back to basics clearly. Tell your players any bullshit like this and you’re done. Zero tolerance.

    Today I saw my community giving, mourning, preaching, singing, cleaning, and demanding justice. Until you’ve walked the streets of America Black, you cannot tell us how to grieve. I am proud of the beauty and strength I saw today.

    I applaud this great start by Matt Dumba and the National Hockey League, moving forward teammates shouldn’t let teammates fight this battle alone! We always show up for each other on the ice, this shouldn’t be any different.
