NO! Civilians do not have an obligation to evacuate. Those who can or will not leave are entitled to the full protections of Int Law, including NOT being directly targeted, intentionally starved, forcibly displaced, or terrorised. This is NOT controverisal!

This is ostensibly a "double-tab strike", the kind designed to kill rescue workers....a #WarCrime if facts are as they appear. A double-tab strike by #Israel in #Gaza on a hospital, no less. Nothing frays the bonds of humanity more effectively than killing the helpers.

Starving a civilian population to starve militants embedded within it is still starvation of a civ population as a method of warfare, i.e. a war crime.

Germany asking Israel to sign a "genocide clause" implies it “was aware ... of the serious danger that acts of genocide would be committed", aka 🇩🇪's prevention duty was triggered. Asking "promise not to genocide with our weapons" is not a good way to discharge that duty.

If these are the facts, the IDF likely violated the legal prohibition on perfidy in armed conflict. Killing wounded fighters who are hors de combat is also a prohibited.

Nein, hier liegt kein Dilemma vor, weder rechtlich noch moralisch. Israel kann & muss sich im Rahmen des Völkerrechts verteidigen, tut dies aber nicht. Deutschland muss damit seine Unterstützung einstellen, es sei denn Israel vollzieht einen radikalen Kurswechsel.

Do you understand that otherwise int law would become a means of forced displacement, of ethnic cleansing, of condemning to intentional annihilation the old, young and infirm? "Flee or die/starve" is war without law and ultimately without limit.
