At a recent visit, the doctor was astounded that my lovely wife age 57 isn't taking any prescription medications. Like my wife and I, many of my patients are the same, addressing health through whole food diets, physical activity and few to no medications. Why isn't this the

"In 1992, the Medicare conversion factor was $31.00. Today? $32.36. That’s a $1.36 total increase in 33 YEARS. If it had just kept up with inflation, it would be over $64.00 today. Instead, it’s more than 50% below where it should be."

Today, a physician working at the same productivity level is stuck with $32.36 per RVU—which means, adjusted for inflation, they’re effectively making HALF of what they used to. Think about that: same work, half the pay. Meanwhile: Hospitals get sweetheart site-of-service

A full shit show in action. US health insurance industry wasting more consumer dollars attempting to defend itself, rather than fixing the broken system.

. @sarahboseley as a practicing physician and 'cholesterol denier' you'd think my patients would be dropping like flies over the past two decades. That hasn't happened. Guess luck has been on our side. Please explain!

The ACA has delivered unbelievably expensive health insurance to the masses. There were many cost effective options prior that were eliminated. We need cost effective options moving forward.

The ACA was the greatest piece of legislation ever passed? Spare me. Such a claim is not merely hyperbolic, it is historically illiterate. The Affordable Care Act passed in 2010, was not a triumph of reform but a masterpiece of political theatre and economic distortion. It did

These "low-paid middlemen" are putting independent pharmacists and physicians out of business. Hospitals are not providers. Annual insurance premiums going up 10% or more for decades while they pays less to the providers you're blaming. UnitedHealth Group financials are suspect.

Absolute BS... infuriating! 🤬 Prior authorizations serve only one purpose, to deny care so insurance doesn't have to pay. There's probably a good reason the provider made the referral in the 1st place. This is insurance interference between the doctor and patient. This type of
