Trump’s most popular campaign promises *during the GOP primary* were 1) Medicare negotiating drug prices 2) Infrastructure 3) Having the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes. Trump accomplished none of them. If the Inflation Reduction Act passes, Biden will have passed all 3.

This whole interview was pretty shocking. Senator Scott basically just confirms his GOP plan to put Medicare and Social Security on the chopping block over and over for like 5 minutes.

Begin the day with a massive jobs report for the month, end it with a massive jobs bill for the decade. Good day for America.

This is confirmed: House Republicans make no carve-out for vets, their bill says VA must be cut by 22% or they will destroy the economy. Unconscionable.

.@SecVetAffairs told me cutting the VA to '22 levels would lead to 13m fewer healthcare visits, longer benefit wait times, & VA staffing cuts. Now Spkr McCarthy announced a budget plan at '22 levels, but claims it somehow won't hurt my fellow veterans. His math doesn't add up.

How CNN covered Trump going below 4% unemployment vs how they are covering Biden going below 4%. Trump inherited 5% and took two years to get there. Biden inherited 6.2% and got there in a year. The jobs report today was better than the jobs report under Trump.

Biden inherited one of the worst unemployment crises in history and we’re now at historic low levels of unemployment in a year and a half. That’s never happened, and reporting on the economy without acknowledging that is kind of absurd.

Fewer people are collecting unemployment benefits than at any time since 1969. Last year at this time there were 15.5M people getting unemployment checks. Now: 1.3M. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

“The Inflation Reduction Act is spurring manufacturers to return to the US in droves, the CEO of US Steel said. ‘This is the most amazing thing we’ve seen in the United States for a very long time… a Manufacturing Renaissance Act.’” That’s Bidenomics.

The truth is this is Building Back Better is going to cost zero dollars. And middle class families will get a tax cut.

The press narrative about a sluggish recovery is fairly detached from reality. Almost 5M jobs added, ~600K per month, unemployment down to 4.8% from 6.3%. Basically unheard of. Even the ports are a boom in economic activity matched with a global supply chain still in pandemic.

"Demand is up…because @POTUS has successfully guided this economy out of the teeth of a terrifying recession,” @SecretaryPete said. “Our supply chains can't keep up…Our role is to be an honest broker, bring together all of the players, secure commitments, and get solutions.”

Republicans in Congress screaming about rising prices for families, while unified against a bill that brings down Rx & health care costs, child care & home care costs—one of the biggest cost-cutting bills for families in history—seems like something they should get asked about.
