Okay. Someone has to say this out loud. So I will: "Muppets Haunted Mansion" is the best thing that's been done with these characters / this IP in the past 15 years. If you're even remotely a fan of Kermit & Co., you need to watch this flat-out terrific Disney+ Halloween special.

- As a Halloween treat, I thought that I’d share an image from 35 years ago. This is the prototype for the dragon that was to have been used in a “Fantasmic!” -like show at Disneyland. Because this version was inflatable, it would have taken 3 minutes to reach 55 feet in height.
- What do I want for Christmas? For Disney+ to announce that they've signed Kirk Thatcher -- the writer & director of the hugely entertaining "Muppets Haunted Mansion" -- to create yet another special featuring Kermit & Co. Anyone else out there want this holiday wish to come true?
- Since I was already cold & wet last night, I figured “Why not?” & wandered over to Critter Country to say “So long” to the original Splash Mountain. Not sure how many of the AA figures from “America Sings” will transition over to “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.” They still looked good.
- Replying to @PodcastTheRideIn the words of the immortal Ron Burgundy, "Well, that escalated quickly." Okay. So let's compare dance cards here. And sometime within the next month or so, make arrangements for the crossover event that ... Well, maybe 5 people (i.e., you three, me & Len) have been waiting on.
- So I boarded a full flight up in Manchester as I made my way down to Orlando for this year’s Gingersnap Challenge. When this Southwest Flight made a brief stop in Baltimore, every other passenger then got up & got off this plane. I am the only one left. Was it something I said?
- Since I turned 64 today, I decided to treat myself to a Disney history book that’s actually older than I am. Bob Thomas’ original version of “The Art of Animation” was published in 1958 (a year before the film it celebrated, Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty,” was released to theaters).
- Not something that you typically see while aboard the Halcyon. Which is a completely Guest-free atrium. Nancy & I are about to begin our second day on the Galactic Starcruiser. So far, the most impressive thing has been the many talented Cast Members who work at this WDW Resort.
- These are the two tickets that I was issued randomly as I entered the Park this week. And I only just noticed that — if I placed them side by side — they then form this complete picture of Mickey & Minnie standing in front of the Castle. That’s some pretty neat design there.
- Disney Dish Mystery Guest Revealed! What do you do when @LenTesta goes on vacation? You bring in a genuine Disney Legend, @joshgad to chat about everything from "Once Upon a Studio" to Epcot's Spain pavilion. We hope you will give it a listen. #DisneyDishPodcast
00:00 - Why did I go back into Disneyland last night after a full day of podcasting stuff? Because I still needed an outfit for that Galactic Starcruiser thing that Len & I are doing at the end of this month. I opted to go with the Obi-WAN’s older, fatter brother look. Whaddaya think?
- And then -- so Disney Dish listeners can then understand what a "Mansion" -themed nighttime show out on the Rivers of America might have been like -- here's a concept painting from the late 1980s that a Disneyland Entertainment staffer did for the "River Haunt" project.
- Recent polling done by the Resort suggests that Disney is aware that this perception (i.e., WDW is far more crowded / expensive than it's been in the past) is out there. The question is ... How do you do -- as a multi-national corporation -- to turn a situation like this around?
- Replying to @wakefieldreportThe fact that the cannons in “Rise of the Resistance” are now basically stationary is a heartbreaker. That scene in this attraction was unlike any I had ever experienced at a Disney theme park. The two-steps-forward, one-step-back aspect of this part of that ride was thrilling.
