- The US is considering dropping the mask mandate on airplanes on April 18th. This should not happen. There is no data to support this decision. In fact, everything I have seen is just the opposite. Clearly, passengers are at risk while boarding and exiting. Stop this!
- Yesterday, I tweeted that the mask mandate on US airplane flights should not end on April 18th. Here is why. I measured CO2 on airplane flights. On boarding and exiting CO2 levels are 2,200 to 2,400ppm. This means 4-5% of the air you breathe comes from somebody else’s lungs.
- Florida Judge voids airline mask mandate. Here is her incorrect rationale - "“Wearing a mask cleans nothing. At most, it traps virus droplets. But it neither ‘sanitizes’ the person wearing the mask nor ‘sanitizes’ the conveyance.” Did she talk to anyone who understands physics?
- This picture was taken yesterday mid-flight from DFW to San Diego. This was the lowest CO2 reading of the flight. It is the worst of any I have measured. About 15 people wearing masks - including the person next to me. (I think he is buying an Aranet4.)

- A good friend has been very careful for 2 yrs. to take all steps to avoid Covid (including 4 vacs). 4 weeks ago he went to a funeral. No one wore masks. Out of respect, he did not. He and his wife both were + in 3 days. 12 days later he was -. Very bad case. Wear a mask.

- I just received word that one of my major suppliers is not able to fulfill orders on time because one third of their employees are out with Covid. Good reminder: We might be done with Covid, but Covid is not done with us.
- Just because airplanes use HEPA filters that remove 99.97% of particles that reach the filter, that does not mean they remove 99.97% of the particles in the space. The removal effectiveness depends on the particles generated and the rate of the flow through the filter.
