UPDATE: The @OpenUniversity and I have agreed a settlement. My legal case against them has now come to a conclusion. I am relieved that there is no need for a remedies hearing. As you know, the panel found in my favour. I am sad that it took nearly 5 years of my life, over

The OU failed to protect me “because of fear being seen to support gender critical beliefs”. This is a message to all universities: you cannot stand back and allow gender critical academic to be hounded out their jobs.

Incorrect Sally. Prostitution related offences are not included in sex offences and would not attract a prison sentence. Happy to help you understand how to read official criminal statistics along with my first year Criminology students. You see there are offence groups and

Typically misleading and hyperbolic. The ‘70%’ is an extremely small % of the prison population. And, in this instance, ‘sex offences’ overwhelmingly mean sex work. If Rowling believes that people should be incarcerated for sex work, her class analysis is as dire as her feminism.

The Tribunal found (inter alia!) that I was compared to a racist uncle. My colleagues orchestrated a hostile public campaign against me and gender critical research network with over 360 signing a public letter calling on the OU to close down my research group.

In which a Professor of Sociology threatens a council worker with “pulling rank”. Not a good look @sally_hines. Not a good look at all.

I resigned from @OpenUniversity last night. The University has allowed things to escalate to a point beyond repair. My trust and heart have been broken. As many of you know, I am taking the OU to the Employment Tribunal and will provide further updates on the case in the next 1/

Is it my imagination or are there now several academics on this platform scrubbing their feeds of statements like GC = transphobic? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe the Phoenix judgement is being read and it’s got a few of them worried that they might be in the wrong side of employment law?

A bittersweet congratulations to Roz Adams and her legal team (esp Naomi Cunningham from @legalfeminist and @SexMattersOrg). For those that do not remember: Roz was run out of Edinburgh Rape Crisis after fighting for the rights of a rape victim to have a woman provide .. 1/
