    I just finished an absolutely terrific novel that’ll be published in May by Celadon Books.  It’s called THE PLOT, by Jean Hanff Korelitz.  (She’s the super-talented writer whose novel YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN was adapted by David Kelley for TV as “The Undoing.”)

    THE PLOT is about a failed novelist who steals the perfect plot from a former student and becomes massively successful, rich and famous . . .and then an email comes in saying “You are a thief” . . . Somebody out there knows what he did.

    You rarely get prose this good, and character development this rich, in a novel of suspense.  But this one’s a winner. It’s the sort of book you hand to a spouse or a friend and say, “Just read this.” Very much in the Gone Girl/Patricia Highsmith vein… I loved it.
