    Lots to unpack in a single tweet. 1) President admits money and vehicles being paid to kidnappers. 2) Says federal government had nothing to do with it (although knew it was happening) 3) Blames state governments for not doing enough to protect school security. “Don’t blame me”

    State Governments must review their policy of rewarding bandits with money and vehicles. Such a policy has the potential to backfire with disastrous consequences. States and Local Governments must also play their part by being proactive in improving security in & around schools.

    So... President Biden may be much less welcoming to Buhari; much more skeptical about selling weapons to Nigeria’s military and much more forthright in criticising any crackdown on protests. That’s why, despite the tweets, some at the top of the Buhari administration are nervous.
