"Poilievre has threatened to pull federal funding from universities over their alleged ideological slant" You can’t claim to support freedom of thought and speech while punishing ideas you don’t like by defunding universities. These are crazy times 1/

“Housing isn’t a primary federal responsibility” Trudeau In short, it’s their responsibility to triple 🇨🇦 population growth rate to supercharge the demand (and cost) for housing But they couldn’t care less where people live because that’s not their “primary responsibility” 1/

It’s been interesting to see so many Canadian conservatives line up behind Trump Pretending Canada deserves these attacks Pretending fentanyl crossing our border is comparable to Mexico Lecturing people for rightfully booing the national anthem of a country threatening to

Pierre Poilievre’s proposed capital gains deferral would supercharge housing unaffordability It incentivizes boomers & corporations to double down on investment properties, locking young Canadians out of homeownership Here’s why it’s a disaster for housing: 🧵

The Liberals are increasing the cap on insured mortgages from $1M to $1.5M Maximum amortization will also be extended to 30 years for first-time buyers This does not help housing affordability. It's a policy that will drive home prices higher

Imagine saving for years so you can have a $70K down payment to buy a home in Durham Then in a single year the avg home price there jumps from $685K last year to $942K today 38% - $257K in 1 year And our government couldn't care less Young buyers have a right to be furious!
