🚨 Alyx is now LIVE 🚨 The silliest way to track caffeine, with all of iOS 26's bells and whistles. Scan stuff with Visual Look Up, use interactive Shortcuts, and tons more. Since I'm terrible at making videos, I had SNES-style box art commissioned for it instead 😄🕹️☕️

So, how good is Spotlight’s live text indexing in iOS 15? Really. Really. Really. Freaking. Good. Like “pick up a random line in a photo of a bright laptop using a text editor with tiny font while tilted sideways” good 🤯!

🎨 iOS Design and UX Tips 🎨 I’ll be extrapolating out things I’ve learned, read from the HIG and have seen that make an iOS app look and feel good. Tip 1) Make a table view row animate its selection state as it’s popping and pushing on the nav Stack.

Wow - this is different. If you hit beta.icloud.com - there is a dramatically different design, and web apps of basically all of Apple's marquee experiences: Photos, Calendar, Notes, Pages and more.

Too many 3rd party apps sleep on this pan gesture to bulk select, which is a shame because it’s a great way to quickly select stuff. Super easy too: func collectionView(_ collectionView: UICollectionView, shouldBeginMultipleSelectionInteractionAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> Bool

What do we call these little stacky-stack icon things? I love them. I want them for everything. I feel like they would be neat in visionOS.

UIKit quietly is insane now too, thanks to Swift's macros. Look at how easy it is to use Xcode Previews with it:

Apple Sports 2.0 just launched, and it's going all in on an visionOS-style design component.

The new buttons APIs make making beautiful things easy. On SwiftUI or UIKit, wonderful job from Cupertino and Friends.

Here is am about to spend over $1,000 dollars on a new iPhone because the animations of a rounded rectangle were *that* good.

I know what I have to do. I just don't know if I have the strength to do it.
