We live on a private road & split maintenance costs w 7 families. Friday MDOT decided that come Monday they're using our road for a detour while they do construction, which is illegal, it's a private road. We got together & decided to park tractors at each end tmrrw,ROAD CLOSED.

Husband and I went on our morning walk and it did not go as expected. He noticed a small red light blinking at the wood line as we approached and we found a game camera, on our land, pointing at our house that isn't ours. He cut it down (it was attached with wire to a tree) and

They didn't ask, just started putting up signs like they own the rd. Neighbor talked to them and they said it's just for two weeks, and they won't be giving anything for wear and tear, no deal. It's our road, we own it, we paved it, it's not for public use, find another way.

And the Sheriff is here, and he knows the guy, a known offender against children one county south and he's on the registry. Husband said they can go arrest him right now for trespassing and child endangerment and breaking his parole and whatever else they can throw at him or we

So they showed up about 45 mins ago to the blocked off street and are currently going through the stages of grief. First they denied they were wrong and were shown the MDOT paperwork with the correct route. Then they tried guilt bc they didn't have enough flaggers for the route.

So it turns out it was placed last night while we were at church and there's a picture of the guy placing it, Sheriff is on his way over.

UPDATE: So that ultrasound I insisted on? They found a mass in my left fallopian tube and it's either a tumor or another ectopic pregnancy, I would covet your prayers at this time.

All the men are so heated, we all pitched in to replace the asphalt last year and get it looking so nice, even hired a guy to stripe it when they were done, and now bc it looks like a county road they're trying to treat it like one knowing full well it isn't.

Then they offered $500 cash to Jim to move the tractor (lol no), then threatened to call the cops, but Jim is a deputy so that wasn't useful, and now they're driving back to Saginaw to get flaggers and are going to be about 2hrs late getting started. Victory!

So I guess they returned with their flaggers bc they just started construction w the detour in the correct area. We're going to leave the tractors until they're done, Big Bob has offered to man the exit we're using since he's retired, he's getting quite the chuckle out of this!

This morning our dairy cow Daisy fell through the ice in our pond. Luckily we heard it happen and got to her quickly but she was still in there for a good 15 minutes. She's now in the barn eating grain drinking warm water bedded down in straw but we're concerned for her baby,
