    A sight to behold. Lake Turkana Wind Power, the home to 365 wind turbines that is generating 310MW of power, and injected into the #NationalGrid via the 400kV Loiyangalani- Suswa transmission line.

    We are proud to announce that KETRACO has today energized the 400/220/132kV Olkaria-Lessos-Kisumu transmission project from Olkaria II to Kibos substation. This follows a scheduled shutdown in Kisumu City by Kenya Power between 7.00am & 4.00pm to pave way for the energization.

    The 400/220kV Mariakani substation is taking good shape. Upon completion, the line from Suswa - Isinya - Mariakani will be energized at 400kV allowing Geothermal power from Olkaria, Wind power from Loiyangalani and Kipeto power to flow to Coastal areas.

    Sunrise at the 220/132/33kV Kibos substation in Kisumu, where the 400/220kV Olkaria-Lessos-Kisumu transmission project terminates. The transmission line will evacuate geothermal power from Olkaria to Western region thereby providing reliable and stable supply of power.

    The first 400kV Transmission Line in Kenya, Suswa-Isinya has just been energised by #TeamKETRACO! The Line was earlier operating at 220kV. We congratulate the energization teams in Suswa and Isinya Substations for their tireless efforts towards actualization of this milestone.
