I am delighted to learn that the Cypriot Presidency has proposed direct funding for Peace Plus in its "negotiating box" as part of the next long term EU budget. The Irish Presidency must deliver on this proposal. I will make sure the EP continues to support Peace Plus.

The recent fires in Waterford have devastated businesses & staff, alongside vital community & disability services. I want to commend the incredible emergency services for their rapid response. We now need urgent supports to be delivered for those affected.

Benjamin Netanyahu should be in prison for war crimes, not causing further devastation for the people in Lebanon and Palestine. If we are serious about a lasting ceasefire, we need the occupying IDF to withdraw from Lebanese territory!

This morning I met with Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner Michael O’Flaherty. We discussed the deeply important issue of historical institutional abuse in Ireland. It was a very constructive meeting & we are committed to securing truth, accountability & justice.

The continual reduction in dedicated CAP funding threatens the ability of Irish farmers to produce food to the highest standards. The Commission must safeguard CAP funding, protect LEADER & community-led programmes, provide certainty throughout the upcoming EU Budget.

Too many women experiencing menopause symptoms are dismissed or told it’s “just hormones”. Menopause care must be taken seriously, and healthcare professionals must be sufficiently educated to recognise symptoms and refer women to the right services. 🚺

One of my key goals as an MEP is to help groups learn about and access EU funding, so they can bring their projects to life. ‘One Stop Shops’ for local authorities and groups trying to access funding would be a huge step in simplifying this process.
