    Yemen 🇾🇪 Status: Civil War Since: 2014 The Saudi backed government internationally recognized have been in exile in Rydiah. Houthis (Iranian backed) have control over most of the North where majority of the Yemeni population live.

    Syria 🇸🇾 Status: Civil War Since: 2011 After the Syrian Revolution failed and intense crackdown began, the country dwelled into civil war between Opposition, Assad, and ISIS. Currently Assad with foregin help has control over majority of Syria after the loss of ISIS control.

    There is also a Southern separatist group controlling some of the South backed by the UAE and Al Qaeda control some but little land. Currently the war has been at standstill and has the possibility of ending with Houthis benefiting the most.

    Sudan 🇸🇩 Status: Civil War Since: 2023 After the 2021 coup that made the junta consolidate power, the RSF milita that was previously allied with the military junta rebelled and is now fighting for power aganist the junta. The SLM and SPLM-N groups are also involved in fighting.

    Afghanistan 🇦🇫 🏳️‍ Status: Insurgency Since: 2021 After the Fall of Kabul and the re-takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban, the country has been under their control however ISIS remains as an insurgent group carrying out terrorist attacks and bombings in the country

    Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Status: Civil War Since: 2018 Ethnic tensions in the country still exist and rebels like the OLA (Oromo) and Fano (Amhara) are Anti-Abiy/Government. As for the Tigray war, it ended in 2022 and the TPLF went to an agreement. War crimes are common among all sides.

    Somalia 🇸🇴 Status: Civil War Since: 1990s The current state of the conflict has it between the Somalian government backed by the AU and US aganist the group Al Shabaab (Al Qaeda affiliate) who has been losing land. The Somaliland/Somalia dispute won't be resolved anytime soon.

    US holds a military base in the Southeast, Islamist HTS controls Idlib, Rojava controls almost all of the northeast and the Turkish backed opposition controls some of the North. The country has been in standstill with no major fighting and economy has gotten worse over sanctions.

    Western Sahara 🇪🇭 🇲🇦 Status: Conflict Since: 1970 After Spain left Westen Sahara, Morocco (and formerly Mauritania) took over the region. Nowadays the region is 80% Moroccan and 20% SADR controlled. Algeria supports the SADR while US, Israel and Saudi Arabia support Morocco
