- Ngl I hate this approach to storytelling in animated movies, its kinda boring and restricts further character development, its the reason Hiccup is so widely beloved but then again you dont go to despicable me for the story anyways
Chris Renaud says the ‘DESPICABLE ME’ franchise will never age up the characters, including Gru’s children. “We’ve taken a The Simpsons approach that nobody ages. They’re frozen in time.” (Source: Deadline) - I dont think this scene is talked about enough imo, if you have the added context of seeing Stoick and Toothless' bond in the shows, it makes this scene gutpunch 10x worse Dreamworks were ballsy to have Toothless kill Hiccups dad unknowingly, this scene is fantastic

Godzilla likes Rome because it reminds him of home My baby is homesick - One of the most beautifully directed scenes in the entirety of animation, the cracks of light through the door showing stoick still having love for his son, and his exasperated realisation at what he said to him, to be resolved with "Im proud to call you my son" CHEFS KISS 🤌🤌
