    Tonight, we mourn the loss of one of our officers who was shot & killed in an armed robbery attempt. The officer was off-duty. We pray for the officer’s family, and their fellow officers, during this time of pain and sorrow. This is an active investigation. More info to follow.

    Cutting the #LAPD budget means longer responses to 911 calls; officers calling for backup won’t get it; rape, murder & assault investigations won’t occur or will take forever to complete. An arbitrary cut of $150m will have a huge impact on our community.

    We will never forget LAPD Police Officer Randal "Randy" D. Simmons, who was killed in the line of duty on February 7, 2008, after he was shot while he and other members of the Los Angeles SWAT Team made entry into a home at approximately 12:30 a.m.

    Instead of finding a new home with his girlfriend last night, LAPD Police Officer Fernando Arroyos was murdered in an attempted armed robbery. He was off-duty. A life full of promise, taken by cowards. RIP Officer Arroyos.

    Today our city lost one of its young heroes, LAPD Officer Houston Tipping. A 5-year veteran, Officer Tipping patrolled the neighborhoods of Devonshire and worked as a bike instructor. He loved serving as a police officer.
