I think a majority of western fans of Japanese art are uniquely detached from the core of otaku culture. In general, that fear of being cringe is why we have discourse every six seconds about the world's most asinine shit.

I don't always make fan art, but this game left an insane impression on me everybody should be playing Labyrinth of the Demon King right now

I'm dead serious about bringing the spirit of Japanese novel games (visual novels) to the West. This is consensus amongst my peers and every work I involve myself in serves the same purpose— Authenticity to, a deeper understanding of, and appreciation for this art form.

People who engage with art purely on a "problematic or not" standpoint never understood the purpose of art. In response to the rise of image board fascists, some online cultures swung way too hard to be the opposite of that— bringing back a new generation of purity moralism.

There's no difference between somebody who hates anime and somebody who only engages with the stuff other people deemed acceptable. You're both relying on 'being cool' as a crutch to avoid meaningfully engaging with anything outside of what you're familiar with.

People are scared of what makes them uncomfortable. It's the same behavior that perpetuates systems that create abusers, keep information from the abused, or create social taboos themselves.

I'm making a NVL style visual novel inspired by works like SELain, Dead Dead Demon, No Longer Human, Tsukihime, and Subahibi It's a slice of life about the nature of poverty, death, and appreciating the creation of art through extreme hardships. Hope to see you soon <3

There are a lot of indie devs making stuff inspired by Japanese adventure games and visual novels, genres I am pretty passionate about. But getting the word out about your game can be pretty tough, so please use this opportunity to promote the cool ADVs and VNs you're developing!

The decision to write a VN based on my own life has made me appreciate the moments in it that weren't tumultuous. Using real photos and conversations I've had from those times— reliving those memories... Even if people end up hating it, it's been a second healing journey.

The end of all radical forms of art is the eventual commodifying of its aesthetics into corporate slop products. DATE EVERYTHING: VISUAL NOVEL PARODY and similar concepts are just taking the funnier (already parodied much better and earnestly) aspects of games and sanitizing it

As somebody currently developing multiple eroge titles, it's extremely fucking disgusting that itch.io capitulated to payment processors. However, it's unsurprising. They are a corporation. We all know that corporations are parasites to humanity and creativity.

It's been long enough. Here's 5 minutes of early version of the demo. There's a lot unfinished that I need to work on UI wise (and I still gotta add 3 more hours worth of writing, music, and art) but this is my reward for those who have been waiting~

Without understanding what makes these pieces of art great, you cannot make something that hopes to emulate it's nuanced blend of eroticism, philosophy, and narrative. One day I want to look back on my art and truly say that I have done this. That's my goal as an eroge developer.

I have some good news!! The demo for my visual novel 'In October The Rain Never Stopped' is almost ready! I just need to go through an editing pass and maybe rework some art assets that I'm not fully happy with, and that's it! It will be in your hands sooner than you think~
