It’s been 13 years today. Brendan went behind bars at age 16; now he’s 29. That he’s grown up, in the face of all setbacks, into such a kind, gentle, resilient, and hopeful man is nothing short of a miracle.

- Breaking news: After the latest round of DNA testing generated results that, like previous rounds of testing, excluded Adnan Syed, he has now been formally exonerated!Baltimore prosecutors drop charges against Adnan Syed trib.al/rbAfkYv
- Adnan Syed had to wait 23 years, despite the world fighting for him. He was locked up at 17, not free until 41. Brendan is almost 33 years old. Locked up at 16. And I know the world is fighting for him too. Because we aren’t gonna wait 23 years to free Brendan Dassey.
- Thirteen years ago yesterday, a jury wrongly convicted Brendan Dassey of murder, based on a confession that hundreds of experts agree is false. He still fights for his freedom today, as do we. Thanks to all who have sent their support. #neverevergiveup
- Happy 30th birthday, Brendan. You’ve grown up into a kind, gentle, & relentlessly optimistic person. And despite the odds, you’ve accomplished things that you can be proud of: earning a high school diploma, holding jobs of trust, making friends. Wishing you peace and hope.
- I lost my blue check — which I don’t care about, unless this means the algorithm is now suppressing my tweets about Brendan & others. Are people seeing this tweet?
- Sixteen years ago today, 16-yr-old special ed student Brendan Dassey falsely confessed to a murder he couldn’t describe, in exchange for a false offer of freedom. His immediate recantation? His mom: “Did you?” Brendan: “Not really. They got to my head.” Proud to fight for him.
- So I have one request. If you watched #WhenTheySeeUs or #MakingaMurderer And if you were disturbed by what you saw Then next time you get called to serve on a jury, remember what you saw.
- Today, Dolores Avery passed away. She would have been 84 in August. It breaks my heart that she couldn't see her youngest grandson, Brendan, walk free, despite a world that knows he's innocent. Her love and support for him will continue to sustain us all in the days to come.
- Due to his fine character & stellar behavior in prison, Brendan has earned a transfer to a medium-security facility in Oshkosh, WI, where he'll have greater freedom and more job/activity opportunities. The transfer took place yesterday. Send him a note of congrats at Oshkosh!Brendan Dassey moved to medium-security prison in Oshkosh postcrescent.com/story/news/loc… via @PostCrescent
- It doesn’t take a lawyer to see that Brendan’s confession was coerced & false. The world gets it. But after giving him two victories, the Seventh Circuit majority held that the law doesn’t clearly prohibit what happened to him. Dissenters were aghast. Time to change this law!
- Today, we filed a petition for clemency on behalf of Brendan Dassey with the Governor of Wisconsin. We’re asking for a pardon or commutation on the basis of actual innocence and his extreme sentence. Visit bringbrendanhome.org to voice your support.
- Today, Brendan Dassey turns 31. He’s been in prison since age 16. Yesterday, I learned that a significant donation has been made in his name to a Canadian children’s hospital. My heart’s full. Brendan will have a legacy of good, despite it all. That’s a gift for all of us.
- A NC jury just awarded Henry McCollum & Leon Brown $75M. The half-brothers spent 31 years behind bars (Henry on death row) based on false confessions they gave as intellectually disabled teens. One of the biggest judgments in wrongful conviction history.Henry McCollum and Leon Brown spent nearly 31 years in prison for a crime they didn't commit. A jury today awarded them $31 million each in compensatory damages, part of a $75M judgement against two former SBI agents. The quick story, with more to come: newsobserver.com/news/local/cri…
