    Yesterday, Ron DeSantis announced well deserved $1,000 bonus checks for Florida's first responders. What he forgot to mention was that the money used came from President Biden's American Rescue Plan. Thank you, President Biden!

    Today, President Biden included additional Florida counties as those considered major disaster areas after speaking with the Governor. Meanwhile, every single Florida Republican in Congress refused to vote for Hurricane Ian relief funds. (No, sadly, you didn’t read that wrong.)

    Women who miscarry in the State of Florida are being sent home to develop sepsis before they can receive needed abortion care. And with the new abortion ban, it will only get worse. This is not freedom.

    As of tonight, Republicans in Arizona have sentenced doctors, nurses, & medical workers to be thrown in jail for providing abortion care — even when a woman or girl is pregnant bc of rape, incest, or sexual assault. Rapists should be thrown in jail, not women or their doctors!

    Ron DeSantis is now asserting that the Mar A Lago raid was a political hit job. He's wrong. No one, not even a former President is above the law, and as for DeSantis, trust me, as Florida's Senate Democrat Leader, I will work to ensure we hold DeSantis accountable at the polls.

    Authoritarian Governor Ron DeSantis just suspended a twice-elected Democratic State Attorney because he would not enforce Florida's 15-week abortion ban. DeSantis continues to put his political career ahead of the beliefs of Floridians. Voters will hold him accountable.
