Vladimir Putin is a warmongering dictator who has mercilessly waged an unprovoked war of imperialist aggression against Ukraine for four years. The Russian people, too, continue to suffer the economic and human cost of Putin’s deadly vanity project. Now is the time to tighten

(1/2) I have worked with @patel4witham for almost 20yrs. In that time, I have always known her to be courteous, diligent and fair. Today's attack in @HouseofCommons by @jeremycorbyn is a nakedly partisan act from a failed and discredited politician.

We are welcome in France if we have had 2 jabs as they cover all the main variants = good sense. If we have had 2 jabs, we have to isolate on return from France to UK = no sense. French @UEFA official comes to UK and does not have isolate = 2nd class citizens in our own country.

BREAKING: Our negotiators have just initialled a trade agreement with Iceland & Norway for the European Economic Area. This is the 2nd biggest agreement we're rolling over and trade with EEA is worth nearly £30bn. This is on top of the agreement we’ve signed with Liechtenstein.

1/ As a former GP, I’ve seen the agony of patients dying in pain. We all want peaceful, painless deaths for our loved ones. But the Assisted Dying Bill crosses an ethical red line—with dangerous consequences for patient safety and the moral fabric of society. 🧵

Revolting that the same media outlets who most despised Dominic Cummings now accept every word that he says.#

Distinct feel of @patel4witham critics hunting as a hungry pack. Opportunistic coalition of the faceless and the useless. Great to see the Prime Minister @BorisJohnson sticking by her.

Following yesterday's accusations by @AlexSalmond against @NicolaSturgeon's govt, I asked in the @HouseofCommons what mechanisms we have to ensure that the conduct of the Scottish Government does not bring politics in the whole of the United Kingdom into international disrepute.

Since the UK left the EU, France has grown 8.8%, Britain 8.7%, Germany 8.1% and Italy 6.1%. Unemployment has reduced from 4.7% to 3.9% - adding 1 million jobs. By July 2022, our exports to the EU were not just the highest since Brexit but the highest ever.

Today in the @HouseofCommons I asked what the best mechanism would be to Investigate the claims by the Auditor-General that of £9.7 billion allocated by UK taxpayers, only 7 billion had been spent on Covid related measures by the @theSNP Scottish Government.

Disappointing to see @DavidLammy @UKLabour talking down a trading relationship worth £30bn. This agreement will protect jobs and provide businesses with continuity. There are some people who would rather see the UK fail than Brexit succeed.

STOP THE PRESS: After Brexit we can continue trading with Iceland (population 338,000), Liechtenstein (population 37,000) and Norway (population 5 million) - all of which are already trading partners. This changes everything.

🇬🇧 exports to the 🇪🇺 rose for the third consecutive month to £16.4bn in April, the highest monthly level in current prices since comparable records began in 1997. Now much higher than before #Brexit. Notable silence from those who said it would be a disaster for UK business.
