I started writing this story about Rep. Thomas Massie seven years ago. It’s been so long that the entire point of the story has flipped. (Or has it?)

Kevin Brady says he opposes $2,000 checks because it would go toward people paying down credit card debt or making “new purchases online at Wal-Mart, Best Buy or Amazon.” Funny, how people spent money didn't seem to be a huge concern when Republicans passed their tax cut bill.

*I tweet about the treatment of children at detention centers* *woman responds that they shouldn’t have come here illegally* *I respond that these children are mostly entering legally at ports of entry, seeking asylum* *she blocks me* They don’t want to know. They don’t care.

Made a pit stop in Iowa County for lunch at Sun Down Bar and Grill. I got to celebrate No Tax on Tips with our wonderful server, she’s thrilled about this provision and excited to keep more of what she earns!

Look at the coronavirus protocols for pro athletes (tests every other day, temperature checks twice a day, group quarantining). Then look at the protocols for schools (handwashing, stay home if you’re sick). Imagine if we valued the lives of teachers the same as MLB shortstops.

Sean Hannity: The New York Times is trying to distract you. They say Trump tried to fire Mueller, but our sources aren’t confirming that! Sean Hannity, minutes later: Alright, yeah, maybe our sources confirm Trump wanted to fire Mueller. But so what? That’s his right. Anywho...

Trump filled up the Strategic Petroleum Reserve a month ago with oil at $30 a barrel. Right now, it’s going for -$10 a barrel. Another brilliant move by our dealmaker-in-chief.

Pretty amazing to watch Republican Members of Congress, after the week that Capitol Police has had, push their way past officers and not follow rules about metal detectors on the floor.

Today is a good day to remember that Christine Blasey Ford credibly claimed that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her—accurately recalled who he was hanging out with, passed an FBI polygraph, and provided notes from her therapist about the assault—and Republicans didn’t care.

The claim that Blasey Ford was subjected to an FBI polygraph is false. The polygraph examination was run by a private operator. usatoday.com/story/news/pol…

Paul Ryan on war in Afghanistan: No timelines. Spend until we win. War on poverty: This has gone on too long. Can't sustain this spending.

We know Brett Kavanaugh has lied multiple times under oath. Not one Senator with an R next to their name seems to care. That should scare you.

Truly stunning to hear some Republicans advocate for free Coronavirus testing and treatment for the uninsured. Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.), one of the most anti-ACA members: “You can look at it as socialized medicine, but in the face of an outbreak, a pandemic, what’s your options?”

Jamie Raskin brings up a Voltaire quote that we probably should have heard a lot more the last four years: "Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."

Really trying to show some grace with the Dianne Feinstein situation, but man, if you’re 88, have $100 million, and are having trouble carrying out basic functions of your job as a U.S. Senator, why not just go spend some time with your family?
