- Getting into war zones and collecting facts when local authorities block access is the job of a journalist. We respect all opinions but the M23 version of this reality does not seem to interest anyone. They also have the right to speak out.
- 2/The M23 can count on the sympathy of the whole Tutsi community in the African Great Lakes Region. In 2013 the M23 withdrew into Uganda with the guarantee that the FDLR presence in Congo would be dealt with and that the rights of the Congolese tutsi's would be respected. #M23
- Update SAKE: M23 stopped an SADC-FARDC attack this morning in Kingi, a small village just outside Sake. They claim that SADC troops were actively involved and that 4 armored cars and one truck were captured and/or destroyed. More details will follow.
- Just thinking: how can @SecBlinken be credible in his statement that foreign countries should not support rebel groups in Congo if he's defending #Rusesabagina s FNL that crossed from Burundi to kill innocent people here in Rwanda???? #Rwanda
- Just talked to M23 officers in Kitchanga! Next step is Kilolirwe and the whole area behind the Nyaragongo. If this is correct Goma will be surrounded completely. m23congoNL @wembi_steve @PatrickMuyaya
- Replying to @MarcHoogsteynsWe went to Kishishe, Bambo, Bwiza (where we were filmed), Rutshuru, Bunagana, Tongo. M23 controls this whole region. We will propose this story to international broadcasters.
- The real challenge of the #M23Rebels will start now: to show the outside world that they are mature enough to set up a credible political structure to defend their causes. Without falling into the same traps as their predecessor Laurent Nkunda and Makenga in 2013.
- The water in the Rubirizi area in Kabeza-Kigali is already cut for nearly 3 weeks. @wasac_rwanda fails to give decent answers. Is this poor urban planning or just negligence? We see that other areas do have water. @CityofKigali . Can we get an answer?
- 11/ My colleague @AdelineKivuPA and human rights lawyer @gateteviews (he wrote the report) accompanied me. The #M23 took care of our safety. The war in the DRC is also a propaganda war and a lot of bullshit is currently being published about it.panafricanreview.rw/what-really-ha…
- 1/The meeting between Kagame and Tshisekedi in Angola today is very important but will not be decisive to guarantee peace in the DRC. The current war between the M23 and the FARDC is different from the previous wars with Laurent Nkunda and the 2013 M-23 debacle.
- Update Goma: Confirmation that Sake was taken by M23 today. "We are preparing to receive their counter attack," tells us and M23 officer. This news was confirmed by off the record sources within FARDC.
