- New jobs data from the ABS for March 2023 show WA's economy remains strong. A record 1.53 million Western Australians were employed in March, including the highest ever level of full-time employment.
The strong result has been underpinned by women finding full-time employment growing by more than 10% over the past 12 months - a terrific result.And WA’s unemployment rate fell to 3.4% in March 2023 - the second lowest of the States, while our labour force participation rate remains the highest of the States at 69.1%. - We promised to build the Morley-Ellenbrook line – and my Government is delivering. Today marks the biggest milestone on the project to date, with the first tracks being laid on the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line.
It’s all part of our once in a generation METRONET project – which is slashing travel times, improving safety and building strong communities while creating thousands of local jobs and opportunities for local business.
