- With respect, this is a mis-characterisation of the current situation in NI. To portray the riots as signalling the death of hope does not acknowledge that the vast majority of people in NI abhor and reject this violence and continue to support the @BelfastAgmt.The 10th April 1998 the Good Friday Agreement was signed. The people of Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland rejoiced. The politicians of Northern Ireland, the Republic, Mainland UK & US had achieved the impossible. Had given us hope. On 6th April 2021, this hope is dying.
