For the first time since 1970, we ended the month of May with just 8 homicides, the first single-digit May homicide total recorded in more than five decades. While one life lost is still one too many, this milestone reflects the progress Baltimore is making and the lives being

Today on International Women's Day at 12:35 p.m. Camden Lee Scott was born! Measuring 19.25 inches in length and weighing 6 lbs even! Mama and Baby Camden are doing great, and Daddy is grinning from ear to ear!

I had a great day at my BLACK job today! Or is it my DEI job? I can't keep up with the latest racist term. Nevertheless, it was a great day across Baltimore. #BlackJob

Today, we celebrated 408 days and counting without a homicide in the Safe Streets Brooklyn catchment zone. This did not happen overnight.

Each year, U.S. News puts out a list of the 25 most dangerous cities in America. Baltimore, for the first time in a long time, is not on that list.

Violent crime is at historic lows in Baltimore and cities across the country under the leadership of mayors who have brought together partners from law enforcement, the legal system, and communities to reduce violence. The president could learn a lot about leadership from them.

President Donald Trump again references Baltimore while speaking about crime. This time, it was during his announcement to place DC police under federal control and deploy the National Guard in the nation's capital. "This issue directly impacts the functioning of the federal government and is a threat to America, a threat to our country. We have other cities also that are bad, very bad. You look at Chicago, how bad it is, you look at Los Angeles, how bad it is, other cities that are very bad, New York is a problem, and then you have of course, Baltimore and Oakland — you don't even mention that anymore they're so far gone."

Now’s the time for us to rally around @KamalaHarris and defeat Donald Trump. Black women have saved this country time and time again. For that reason and a hundred others, there is no other — or better — option than the Vice President to unite our party and win in November.

A massive thank you to all of our first responders, elected officials, and support staff who mobilized today immediately following the Key Bridge collapse. Baltimore is strong, Maryland is strong and together we will help our communities recover from this unthinkable tragedy.

Anyone who grew up in Park Heights knows, you had to walk 2 miles just to get to a library, because for over two decades, the only library in our neighborhood sat closed. Now, this will be the FIRST NEW library built in Baltimore in FIFTEEN YEARS.

Baltimore! It’s a new day in Park Heights. I am proud to announce that we’re delivering on promises made and will be officially buiding a BRAND NEW Library right here in Park Heights to replace the one that was there, and closed, when I was a kid.

We wanted a wedding without all of the pomp and circumstance and many of the usual wedding traditions. What we prioritized the most was celebrating our love while being surrounded by the people we love the most. Our loved ones were in for a huge surprise... @hanalulu12

The outpouring of love and support that our city has seen means the world to me. I want everyone to know that we will reopen, we will rebuild, and we will heal together and in the right way.
