The most striking thing about my experience with the American poor is the total lack of frugality. Some of them are on food stamps driving SUVs. One couple I knew saved up every third paycheck to get themselves more tattoos.
Apparently San Francisco has gypsies now. Why are they here? What insane web of asylum rules and travel document fraud results in a gypsy coming from some far flung corner of Europe all the way to California?
