📺 New episode: My VERY unique conversation about AI doom with @MichaelEllsberg, son of the late Daniel Ellsberg. Daniel Ellsberg made history after leaking the Pentagon Papers. But his later work, The Doomsday Machine, was even more shocking, exposing the instability of

My father would have cried tears of joy today--I wish he'd lived an extra year to see this and to give Julian a hug. Blessings to the Assange family. Here is Daniel's final interview on Assange, with @kgosztola, 3/7/23:

You went out of your way to poke the bear, and now you’re lying, pretending that you didn’t intend the post to be judgmental. Next, you say that the people who judge you back after you judge them are “hypocrites.” Then, after you fucked around and found out, you play the victim

Sir, he's advocating a... *multinational agreement* which is enforced by... *force* (the last five letters of the word "enforce"). Not saying I agree or disagree with @ESYudkowsky's proposal- but you're hysterically calling him out for advocating... *law*.

In the past I have given credit where it was due to Eliezer Yudkowsky for not explicitly advocating violent solutions to the problems with AI development that by his own admission only he and a few other (mostly nontechnical) people see on the horizon He crossed that line today

I’m at about 90%. I was a sesitive moody/writer/philosopher type boy growing up and never a “guy’s guy.” I found that girls/women accepted me for the things guys judged me for and that I could have deeper conversations with them than I could with most guys. I had to get used to

@nytopinion- MacKinnon says "Most women enter the sex industry underage." This has been widely debunked, including by @GlennKesslerWP, WaPo Fact Checker, who gave a related claim "4 Pinocchios," his highest rating of falsity. Will you issue a correction?

Analysis | The Four-Pinocchio claim that ‘on average, girls first become victims of sex trafficking...
Once again, politicians and the media blithely repeat a Four-Pinocchio statistic on sex trafficking that does not hold up to scrutiny.

1/ There will always be a demand for food, and for sex. Thus, there will always be demand for food service and agricultural labor, and for sexual labor. Yes, trafficking exists in ALL these industries. The way to stop it is not to try to "end demand" for food or sex (good luck!)

Dear @AshleyJudd- you are telling a number of grown women what their own sexual/consent boundaries are, and then telling them, "No, those aren't actually your own sexual/consent boundaries" when they tell you otherwise. There's a precise term for this: gaslighting.

You don't get to say "There's no such thing as you, your work, your experience, your boundaries, and your voices"... but also "I deeply value dialogue with you." To top it off, you have the gall to say you "love" these women whose chosen careers you are calling to abolish...
