Just so we have this straight… at separate coordinated hate rallies today we saw: the swastika; calls for the boycott of ANOTHER Jewish business; and now the flag of the Islamic regime of Iran - the terror engine behind Hamas. Notice the pattern yet Canada?? @bnaibrithcanada

We understand that our government will be issuing an apology to Canadians shortly for this outrage. No apology is acceptable that does not also provide the public with a detailed explanation as to how this could possibly have taken place in the heart of our democracy. Shameful.

It is beyond outrageous that Parliament has honored a veteran of a criminal Nazi unit in this way. Canadian soldiers fought and died to free the world from the evils of Nazi brutality.

B'nai Brith Canada has asked our government to do the right thing and open these records to the public. We cannot move forward as a country from Friday's humiliating debacle without the government committing to finally opening its wartime records.

Canadians deserve to know how many Nazi war criminals were permitted to settle in this country after the war. The Duchesne Commission Final Report – the only official investigation into this subject – remains largely redacted, impairing transparency and accountability.
