Erika McEntarfer has devoted her career to public service. She has conducted herself as BLS Commissioner with great integrity. There is no evidence whatsoever that BLS data are politically biased. By incorrectly asserting that the data are biased, President Trump is undermining

These tariffs will reduce manufacturing employment. They will reduce the competitiveness of manufacturing firms. They will raise prices. They will increase unemployment. They will likely cause a recession. They are an assault on the Constitution.

This trade war is predicated on a mountain of bullshit. 1. Wages and incomes for typical workers haven’t been stagnant for decades. 2. The game isn’t rigged—economic gains flow to everything. 3. The middle hasn’t been permanently hollowed out. 👇

1/ President Trump's first trade war increased consumer prices. It reduced manufacturing employment and made domestic manufacturing less competitive. It failed to reduce the trade deficit. The second trade war is likely to more severely increase prices and reduce employment and

Both President Clinton and President Obama took the time to urge Democrats not to demonize those with whom they disagree. To meet them where they are. To listen. To respectfully disagree, and to try to persuade. An important lesson in citizenship that extends to all Americans.
