- Tampa's defense features two Canadiens first round picks in Ryan McDonagh and Mikhail Sergachev. The Habs return for them was Scott Gomez and Jonathan Drouin.
- The #Leafs gave up a #3 and #6 for Ilya Lyubushkin and a #3 and #5 for Joel Edmundson, and Tampa Bay gets Dumba for a #5. You can't make this up.Matt Dumba and a 7th in 2025 to Tampa in exchange for a 5th RD pick in 2027 No salary retention on Dumba
- Whether the #Leafs advance or not, there should be an emphasis on re-signing O'Reilly/Acciari/Schenn based on the different aspects they bring to the table. That means moving on from Kerfoot, Holl, and either buying out or putting Matt Murray on LTIR.
- Look at it this way, #Leafs fans. TOR upgraded their blueline significantly in terms of depth and playoff experience and got someone signed through next season without giving up Bracco, Liljegren, Sandin, Johnsson or Kapanen. Did not think that was possible, but Dubas did that.
- If you wondered whether #Leafs GM Kyle Dubas was back from Switzerland after his summit with William Nylander. I have it from an unimpeachable source that he is.......that would be me, since I saw him walking down a busy Toronto street moments ago.
