- Very sad news to wake up to this morning - Adrian Shooter, legend of the industry and most especially of Chiltern Railways, has died. Of course, his legacy will live on in so many ways. Our condolescences to his family and friends, and may he rest in peace.
- She's electric! @EastMidRailway @HitachiRailENG Aurora bi-mode No 810001 has just completed its first test run on the Midland main line in electric mode. First time I've seen one of these in St Pancras!
- To brighten up everyone's Friday afternoon, here's some good news - Elizabeth Line passenger numbers keep growing. Last Thursday it carried 738,000 passengers - the highest yet in a single day. Yesterday may have been busier still - numbers awaited. Build it and they will come!
- A corporate account, but a last personal post. I must have done this hundreds of times, but here is my final @EastMidRailway Meridian home from London as MR Editor. As ever, the friendliness of the staff reminds me what the railway is about - its wonderful people 1/4
- At Marylebone this morning @chilternrailway and @PorterbrookRail have officially launched the first refreshed Class 168. Two more units in works at Arriva TrainCare in Crewe. A lighter touch refresh of the Class 165s will follow starting in February
- Next up we have the #goldenwhistles awards for outstanding individual operations. First up, a Highly Commended certificate is presented to Simone Carter of @WestMidRailway #4thFriday
- Taking a ride on the new DART people mover between Luton Airport Parkway station and the airport, which starts carrying passengers tomorrow in a phased introduction
