    The House has this afternoon approved an amendment to Clause18 of the Finance Bill, 2018, sponsored by Minority Whip @JunetMohamed ,suspending the implementation of 16% VAT on fuel,which was to take effect on 1st Sept.2018, for a period of 2 years, citing the high cost of living

    The House has this evening approved the Tax Laws (amendment) Bill,2020, paving the way for 100% tax relief to employees earning less than Ksh 24,000, while those earning above that amountwill pay a maximum of 25% down from 30%.The House has also approved the Supp.budget.

    Hon Junnet- the govt should be able to feed it's people, give free sanitizers and masks. The govt cannot force people into quarantine facilities and expect them to pay the bill, that should be the govt's responsibility as there is money for that in the the COVID-19 fund.

    Hon @CecilyMbarire: I want to thank the President and the Jubilee party for giving me the chance to serve as the Majority party's Deputy Whip. I also appreciate Majority leader @HonAdenDuale for the good working relationship we had, and I leave the office with my head held up.

    It has come to our attention that there is an Order Paper doing the rounds, purporting to highlight House business scheduled for June 2nd, 2020. This Order Paper is FAKE. The House is currently on recess after completion of the First Part of the Fourth Session.
