Human #blastoids, a new #breakthrough from the Rivron lab at IMBA @NRivron, faithfully form a reliable #embryomodel in vitro. The findings allow to better understand blastocyst #development and #implantation. More ➡️ bit.ly/Blastoids_Rivr… #IVF #infertility @Nature (1/3)

Derk ten Berge's lab derived a new type of stem cells ‘Rosette Stem Cells’ as an intermediate between naive and primed pluripotency. Many interesting questions about the discrete/continuous nature of development. nature.com/articles/s4155… Great collaboration. Thxs Derk. #stemcells

Mechanistic work showing that, during early human embryogenesis, both extraembryonic tissues, the trophectoderm (via IL6) and hypoblast (via laminin deposition, among others), guide the development of the epiblast. Congratulations Takumi and all the @Takashima_Lab !

Complex human cardiac chambers formed via the self-organization of hESCs, by @MendjanLab. Beyond the achievement, it suggests that a dosage of WNT and timing of VEGF signaling coordinate the co-specification of CM and EC lineages, which impact cavity morphogenesis and patterning.

Interesting perspective from Janet Rossant on the human post-implantation embryo model formed by Zongyong Ai and colleagues, and in comparaison with the growing list of complementary models.
