See my letter to Minister Freeland ahead of Friday's meeting with other provinces and territories, requesting the federal government's calculation of the asset transfer amount (together with the underlying data supporting the calculation). ⬇️

Premier @ABDanielleSmith has shown the vision and given a strong new mandate to grow the Heritage Fund to $250 billion by 2050. What does that mean for Albertans? It means that future generations can prosper and fund services without relying on oil revenue.

Disappointing but not surprising. The NDP really don’t understand agriculture and farm families. Never again.

🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Rachel Notley confirmed today that she wants to bring back her disastrous Bill 6 legislation. Notley has a bitter axe to grind with family farmers and ranchers. Let’s make sure she never gets her chance. #ableg #abvote

Today I joined Premier Danielle Smith and my colleague Mickey Amery to announce that we are challenging the federal government's double standard on the carbon tax in court. The carbon tax takes the equivalent of 750 teachers out of our education system and the equivalent of

We are deeply concerned and disappointed that the Alberta Teacher Association leadership walked away from the bargaining table yesterday, after receiving exactly what they asked for. We call on the ATA to get back to the bargaining table and get a deal done. Parents and students

The results are in, and Alberta ended the year with an $8.3 billion surplus. As we face rapidly changing economic conditions this year due to global trade challenges, the government will use the surplus to fortify Alberta’s economic position, repay debt and save for the future.

Alberta just made a historic $2.8 billion investment in the Heritage Fund, pushing it to a record high of $30 billion. That means we’re turning Alberta’s resource strength into long-term financial security. We’re investing today so all Albertans can benefit for generations.

You are very clear Miss Notley… So clear, in fact, that you will not respect what Albertans decide in a referendum. Let me be equally clear then. Regardless of your opinion or mine, this pension belongs to Albertans and they will make the final decision.

It’s an honour to be appointed as the President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance. Through strong fiscal responsibility, our government will continue to grow and diversify the economy to build opportunities for Albertans.

I sent a letter to Minister Freeland indicating that Alberta would like to host her and my provincial and territorial counterparts in Calgary at the next finance Ministers meeting. Alberta welcomes all good-faith, rigorous analysis of the report produced by LifeWorks.

Today I sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland opposing the proposed changes to capital gains taxation in the federal budget. Any policy that drives out investment and makes it more difficult to recruit doctors is a bad policy and must be abandoned. #ABLeg
