I was a part of the @PostSports layoffs this morning. Working for the paper I grew up adoring was a dream for me. Grateful for all of the local athletes and teams I’ve gotten the privilege to cover these last five years and for all the friends I’ve made as a preps reporter.

Riverside's Kaylie Avvisato used to take daily trips to softball fields with her dad, crafting her game with her mentor. After he died in November, she is now inspired by his memory as she emerges as one of the nation's premier talents. For @WashPostHS:

After Rainelle Jones became a target of inflammatory comments from spectators while kneeling during the national anthem Friday, she made one thing clear: She wasn’t surprised. Words on an emotional weekend for @TerpsVolleyball, for @DBKSports:

Powerful words from middle blocker @rainellejones2 after Maryland volleyball’s match this evening. Last night in Nebraska, Jones and two other @TerpsVolleyball teammates were targets of incendiary language from fans while kneeling during the national anthem.
