I'm still bitter at Elon Musk for changing Twitter to X because I had to reanimate this scene in my new cartoon.

Great sketch by Chris Sanders, director of LILO & STITCH (the original).

R.I.P. Arleen Sorkin, the original voice of Harley Quinn. The way Sorkin was able to combine twisted loopiness with a hint of sympathetic sadness is key to what made the character work so well.

Also, Chris Sanders' pin-up art is always great.

In honor of Jane Russell's birthday, he's one of the all-time great movie bloopers that got left in the movie itself. Jane getting knocked into the pool in GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES (1953) was an accident, but it was so funny it was left in.

This is one of my favorite Road Runner gags because it's such a ludicrous idea that could go wrong in a million different ways, and then it goes wrong in the simplest. Such brilliant animation in the bit where Wile E. tries to keep balance.

It's heartbreaking to think of the wonderful artists who put so much obvious love and care into every frame of the old Disney cartoons. I'm glad they aren't around to see this.

The goal of 1937's SNOW WHITE was to prove that moving drawings could captivate audiences as powerfully as live actors, and they succeeded. No disrespect to the crew of this new version, but cartoons don't need to be validated by live-action remakes. They're perfect as they are.

Yeah, and they're brilliant. Also, no one was "lied to." It was openly acknowledged that these were made for the war effort and that info has never been hidden. Why should it be?

I was today years old when I learned that Disney worked with the U.S. government to create short films that vilified Germany during WW2. We have been lied to on an unimaginable scale.
    Readers added context
The fact that there are many WWII-era animated propaganda shorts is not secret, and never has been subject to any cover-up. The shorts are frequently explicit in their purpose, exhorting the viewer to support the war effort, buy bonds, etc. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War…
